What happens when you put a ‘high-tech’ sticker on a toaster? Will people think it makes better toast? Of course not.
Then why are so many SaaS companies carelessly using the word ‘AI’ in their hero sections? Yes, I get it. It sounds powerful. But, usually, it says nothing.
SaaS leaders cram the ‘AI’ term into an H1 headline, thinking they signal …
—all things they assume people immediately associate with AI.
In reality, though, when people see the ‘AI’ term, they likely think … ‘Great, AI again.’
‘Powered by AI’ sounds impressive. But it means nothing when it’s plastered on the hero section, without context. And by context, I mean adding a line that shows how ‘AI’ gets people what they want, faster and better. Sure, companies may explain this part later on the homepage.
But here’s the problem—many visitors never make it past that flashy hero section. And that’s a missed opportunity.
Companies add the ‘AI’ word to their hero section, assuming visitors will automatically perceive their product as valuable and useful. But people don’t care whether a platform is AI-powered or not. They care whether it solves their problem.
And if AI adds more value compared to regular solutions, even better—but explain it in the hero section.
